- 2025, MeasureCamp Madrid: [MCP servers in data and analytics](https://model-context-protocol-thsycdo.gamma.site/). An introduction to the Model Context Protocol for people who work with data. It starts from the problem: AI models cut off from business data, and one custom connector for every pairing of model and tool. Then what MCP is, the open standard Anthropic published in 2024, and how one protocol replaces those connectors. It closes with servers already useful in analytics work (Excel, the file system, GitHub and Git), the clients that supported it at the time (Claude Desktop, Windsurf and Cursor), how to set up a first server, and what was still unsolved: access control between systems and a protocol that keeps changing.
